Baha'i Prayer Beads

The Inspiration:

"It hath been ordained that every believer in God, the Lord of Judgment, shall, each day, having washed his hands and then his face, seat himself and, turning unto God, repeat `Allah-u-Abha' ninety-five times.

Such was the decree of the Maker of the Heavens when, with majesty and power, He established Himself upon the thrones of His Names." (KITÁB-I-AQDAS)

About the Beads:

These beads (19+5) were lovingly created by Alan, for this their intended purpose; To help you to keep count of the 95 times you repeat `Allah-u-Abha'. (As 19 x 5 = 95)

Created using Imported Italian Glass, utilizing an age-old wound glass technique. The beads were then properly Kiln Annealed for long lasting durability!

About the Finished Construction:

The beads were then lovingly strung by Alan into the Prayer Bead arrangement that you see pictured here, utilizing waxed Belfast linen.

The tassel also created by Alan, was put together using Antique Silk Floss.

FYI: The origin of the word bead is bede.

The German cognate is bitte, the conversational

request for "please".

Also related to bid, meaning

"to ask, to pray".
